Modeling Best Practices and Key New Features in HEC-RAS 2D Modeling Workshop
BACKGROUND
This course will introduce participants to modeling best practices and key new features in HEC-RAS 2D modeling up through software version 6.6. Learning will be accomplished through a combination of lectures, project examples. Q&A, and lively discussion.
Participants in this course must have an interest in 2D modeling and have previous experience with 1D/2D modeling related to floodplain mapping, hydraulics, river restoration, stormwater, and or hydraulic structures. This is not intended to be an introductory course. The course will be focused on HEC-RAS 2D modeling fundamentals. This course will cover a range of topics to today’s practitioner including modeling best practices, model troubleshooting, results review and visualization, pipe networks and pump stations, rain-on-grid simulations, and how to incorporate radar rainfall into models. The intent is to balance good modeling practice with introduction of new or advanced topics.
